What is the transparency reporting obligation?
Under Article 19 of the EU DSM Directive, producers must inform authors and performers at least once per year about how their work has been used and the revenues it has generated.
Who must fulfil the transparency obligation?
The producer, the party contracting with creatives, is responsible, regardless of whether the production is financed or commissioned by another entity.
What information must be shared?
Producers must provide modes of exploitation, revenue details, and any remuneration due in connection to the work. This information must be accurate, comprehensive, and provided annually.
